I have 2 iDCS500 R2 systems linked with a point-to-point T1. They've been working fine for the past couple of years when I upgraded the MGI3-16's to MGI16's, but suddenly in the past couple of weeks, the remote site is dropping calls. The remote site uses the PRI at the main site for all of its outgoing. I had the carrier test the P2P and they claim its fine. I reset both systems last Saturday and again yesterday there were dropped outgoing calls and intercom calls. I just checked the alarm report on both systems and they show nothing since my 2AM reboot on Oct. 18. There are no dropped outgoing calls from the main site so I know it has to be in the P2P. Both systems are running V2.69. Has anyone seen anything like this? Of course the line provider has already closed the trouble ticket and places blame on the phone system. Thanks in advance.

Try doing a constant ping from one side to the other. If you see dropped packets, then there are problems with the network.

The ping test revealed a problem in the point-to-point. There was 100% packet loss on two consecutive pings after about 15 minutes. That's enough to knock out a call. Thanks for the heads up, Marc!
