we have installed a 7400 with 20e system and are trying to setup email gateway and the ISP that also handls there mail server says it will not connect smtp unless we pop it first. Is that possible and/or what other work arounds are there, if anybody nows of another direction to go in it would be greatly appreciated, thanks alot!

Because the system does not receive e-mail, it is only concerned with sending via SMTP, you will need to find another ISP.

Or try bouncing it through a locally setup SMTP gateway.
I tried a freeware program called Sleepwalker SMTP Proxy on a machine in the office and set the phone system up to use it. Sleepwalker was then set up with the ISP's details and all worked well. Just need to make sure the computer its running on stays running all the time.
If that works well, then you may need to look into a paid version that will run as a service rather that just a program.
