Hi All.

Just recently added an OAS card into a 7400 cabinet that is currently running 4.42a software. After card was installed, I checked the firmware of the OAS card and found it is v1.00. The problem we are having is trying to get an IP address to take on the OAS card so that I can perform an upgrade to OAS v2.01. I configured the IP address through programming on keyset, reset card/cabinet several times, but I still can't ping the lan port even connected via crossover cable. I have a call into support right now, not sure if this is hardware issue or something to do with OAS v1.00 not being compatible on 4.42a software. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this?

You have to connect via sio port to set up an ip adress on ver 1.00. after that you will be able to upgrade the card.

Margel is correct, however there are a couple of other steps.

First... if the firmware on the OAS card is v1.00, the switch needs software v4.30i. Once you have upgraded the OAS, you can go up to v4.42a on the switch.

To upgrade the OAS card, follow the exact same steps for upgrading an MGI card. The only difference is the name of the folder you need to create on the TFTP for the files for the OAS card.

Margel is correct it doest matter what your system's software rev is if you use the SIO port to set the IP settings of the OAS card first.

Good Luck

Sorry for late response,

Got the card upgraded via the sio port, and everything appears to be working.

Thanks for the input!
