We have only be selling Samsung phone systems for the last 10 years and are thinking of taking on another phone system to give us and the customer more choice. Can any one recommend one the can do pretty much what samsung does, were thinking maybe Avaya!

As anyone can decide about any electronic product is from its processors and the software. Both of them are very well done by NEC. Only because of enormous money and resources spent. So Try getting NEC, which you will never ever regret.

My recommendation is to choose a manufacturer that sells more than just phone systems. Those that sell only phone systems will be gone in a couple years; just imo.

Remember not to make this a "Bashing" thread against any one system manufacturer.
I would suggest to look for what features the other brands have or things they can do that Samsung doesn't. Then evaluate the likely hood whether any of your clients or potential clients would indeed want these. Then decide whether it's really worth the investment, training expense, headaches, etc.

Working under an Avaya dealer so you don't have to have quotas is a smart way to go.
The IPO 500 from Avaya is super versatile. That's what we've recently started working with. They've recently added a legacy card that will run Partner phones on the system so if you have customers with a Partner, they can upgrade to it and keep their phones.
Similarly, in the next release they're going to integrate a legacy card that will run Nortel BCM phones as well. As you know, the phones are what really eat up a lot of cost when quoting a new system and this one allows you to run several off of the same platform.
Hope this helps, Daniel
