we have a Samsung officeserve 7400 phone system with roughly 150 phones and one user is missing calls. when a caller calls into the users direct line from internal or external, the caller appears to have no knowledge that the user can not hear the ringing because they hear the ring 4 times (which is normal) and then they go to the users voicemail. Because of no ringing, the user is oblivious to the call coming in unless the user happens to be looking at the phone and sees the call coming in which the user can then answer. to rectify the problem, the user unplugs the network and power to reset the phone.
Does anyone know how to fix this once and for all?
Thanks, Deb

I assume it is a voip phone as it has a power supply and plugs in to the network. You say a reset will fix this for a period of time. You could try upgrading the software on the phone to the latest..Or have you tried a different phone?

DebNEI..
Hi, Sam here...
Does the user extension have "forwarding" setup? or DND forwarding? or FOLLOW ME setup? Or one of those type of features active?
Just wondering, looking for the Simple Stuff first...
Sam
TimeWarner provides.

Sam, if only it was that easy. None of the forwarding features were activated and I even checked to see if the Auto Answer mode was selected and it is not. Deb

Margel, nothing rings through, internal or external, until we reboot the phone. He can see the call "ringing" but hears nothing.

You may try a DB intialize on the port as well.

Gerrya - this is the second phone under the same extension that is experiencing this issue.
bmreen - what is a DB initialize, and how do you do that?
