I have an iDCS-100 with a SVMI-4E installed and I want to use Networking, IP connectivity.

What card do I need to install to get IP on this System?

MEM4 card?
SMCP1 card?

Mem4 required, MGI card required for VOIP phones, Misc card only needed for 2nd music, paging, etc.

Think I am correct on this, anyone can be right.

Thanks, Bunnie

Thanks Bunny...

Not thinking of going VOIP just yet..

The MEM4 sounds right.

What about the SMCP1, does that need a version 2, MPU?

Thanks

You need a MCP1 not a MEM4 card, as the MCP1 is R2 CPU and you need that to support the MGI3/16 card.

If you want todo SIP/H323 trunking you can use a ITM3 card with a MEM4, but I wouldn't recommend it

Thanks Nameless...

Actually, I don't want to do SIP/VOIP...what I'm looking for is the ability to use the TCP/IP connectivity, rather than "serial" SIO to program the phone..

I just want LAN interface actually... nothing more...

And, how would I get LAN interface on the SVMI-4E card... is there a version with LAN or do I have to get a SVMI-8e to get LAN interface for programming as well?

Thanks for any insight

You must go to an 8-e for the lan interface as no version of the 4-e has it. If you go to the 8-e it must go in the expansion cabinet.

BMREEN is correct, The MCP1 is the processor that will allow you to have a network connection, and let you program remotely via OSM. The SVMI-8e is the only VM that will support a remote connection on the 100 platform via hyperterminal or Procomm plus.

Thanks all..

So I need an MCP1 to program the phone using OSM and a SVMI-8E to program VM using Hyper or ProComm..

That's what I will order, both cards..

Thanks

If all you want is network connectivity, then a MEM4 card will do the job.

If you put a MCP1 in you will need to change your MISC1 or MISC2 card for a MISC3 or MISC4 card respectively if you have one
