I have found a few times where I need an Intercom key on the Samsung. Is there not an intercom key feature?
I know Samsung calls it a call 1,call 2 etc. button but when you press them you do not get intercom dial tone.
Case and Point: User has there phone set to pickup line 4 when they lift the handset. He walks to the phone and lifts the handset to make a page, he presses the page button. Success except now he has line 4 on hold at his phone. I know, I know.... dial the extension or code before you pick up the handset.
Has anyone found an intercom key feature that I'm missing?
Thanks!

What system is it? It seems like the user has their hotline set to 9. If you take off the hotline, you should be able to get the intercom functions back. Check MMC 306.

Sorry, it would help to know which system I'm working on. Systems are Officeserv 7100,7200, and 7400
Biztel - Yes, I want the hot line set to a specific line. I don't want to take hot line away. The user wants it set up that way. Now try to make a page without inadvertently putting a line on hold. I can dial internally by dialing the extension and then picking up the handset. Know problem. I just can't pick up the handset to make a page without putting a line on hold. I simple intercom key would be a fix.

Press a key first before picking up the handset then pick up the handset and press a page key. If they don't have a page key then dial 5 pick up the handset and finish dialling the page code. This is not a Samsung problem, I think anyone with a hot line would have this problem.Alternatively, set your hot line delay up.

If I have to use the delay I might at well not use the hot line and press a line key to make a call instead of waiting. Originally posted by pvj: This is not a Samsung problem, I think anyone with a hot line would have this problem. Every other system I work on has an intercom feature key. - Sprint Protege - Tadiran - Avaya Partner - Avaya Legend/Magix - Comdial DX80 - most Nortel's I've seen I guess I'm the only one. Just thought I'd run it by the forum. No harm, No Foul

Semantics here. You have to do SOMETHING to get an outside line and you have to do SOMETHING to make a page.
If the set defaulted to intercom, one push of 9 would get you an outside line. One push of the [Spkr] button now gets you an outside line.
Either way it is pushing one button.

Are you wanting todo a page (or some other system function) or just call someone internally?
If page, you can enable speaker phone page on 4.4x software (this may have been in 4.3x).
If you have a DS key programmed for the extension you can just press that.
