Opening port 443 seems to be an issue with the customers IT people. It seems this port is used for email or something else. Is anyone experiencing this problem as well?

Port 443 is the port used for secure web sites, https.

I assume you are talking about opening 443 inbound. If your customer has any servers running https then that port will be used by that server. They will need another outside IPs address if you can not use a different port.

I have been getting them to forward port 5100(old OSM port)to the internal ip address and to internal port 443.

Then you run into the other issue of some cheaper routers won't do port translation, only NAT, so you can't specify different external and internal ports.

@RM Systems
I don't understand your layout well enough to comment.
Could you specify what the outside (Internet) port number and inside (PBX) port number was for your old setup and what you want it to be for the new setup?

@nameless
It is pretty rare these days to find any router that doesn't do port translation.
Will an el cheapo router do NAT and PAT reliably? is another question.

Bmreen, I should have mentioned this is for a OS7200-S. Port 5100 will work with Installation Tool? If so, this seems to be the way to go.

I have had other IT guys open up port 444, they would set it as https as well and point that to the internal address of the samsung. If their router isn't able to do this then you would need another static ip setup just for your system as mentioned above.

IT Tool uses 5090 for programming, and 5003 for SD card access

RM, I get them to forward 5090,5003 and 5100. I found that 5100 stays out of the IT guys way with HTTPS(its out of everybodys way and I dont have to worry about one customer wanting me to use 444 and another customer wanting me to use 442). But I do believe you can change IT Tool to use different ports other than the default. On the Link Control page you can uncheck the default port box and change the ports it uses,but I have never actually had to do it yet so I can not say that it does work.

It works for IT tool, but port 443 is only used by the Web interface and this is not changeable. Port forwarding another port to 443 internally is the only way to get to the web interface for VoiceMail progamming on the 7030/7100.

I usually use 449 as nothing else seems to use this and it remains automatically as a https port.

When you try to connect to the web server though you need to manually add :449 after the IP address to connect.

Cheers, Dave.
