Clients iDCS-100 has the Day and Night messages setup, when in night mode, the phone rings about 5 times, and then the 1002 message answers..

But when set in Day Mode and no one answers, the phone uses the "generic" "there is no one available to take your call to pick another extension:" type message..

The Day Mode, voice mail, won't answer.

svmi-4e is the vm system installed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check that the mailbox is switched on for the group that calls are overflowing to.

Is greeting 1001 recorded? It sounds like it was deleted.

Look to see which group the lines ring in day mode and make sure there in no EXT in VM for the group and that will force the call to default to the active menu (which is typically day main menu).

Thanks all..

1. Calls ring to group 501 (overflow set to 519)
2. Greeting 1001 is recorded
3. no EXT is set in VM for group 501

So.. "telephonesystemsdirect", I should turn on a voicemail box for group 519?

Delete mailbox 501 then recreate it so its default.

Make sure 501 has mailbox switched on. Set MW 501 keys on the phones to access and record the greeting.

You might need to make some changes to forward station/trunk in the vm also.

Sounds like you could also check your Forward Trunk menu and add the entry 501 go to Day Main, or mbx 501 if you are using the mailbox as the greeting.
