Just installed a used DSUII 1632 for an existing customer with 21 used 24 button SCS phones and a 4 port Interchange (new). We are getting all kinds of erratic problems like displays showing improperly, hold buttons flashing and other erratic problems. We've tried 3 control units and replaced old cabling and still have these issues.
Is there a compatability issue with SCS phones on a DSUII?

I think I found our problem. We are using 8324SJ phones and those weren't supported until 6A software and the control units we have in stock are all 5A

Update: We removed all 21 phones from the site. These were all 8324SJ from 2006 Rev. H
We installed 21 older phones from around 2001 with Rev. C. All the phones came up and no more erratice characters across the display screens, no more hold buttons blinking and no more erratic ringing.
Brought all the Rev. H phones back to the shop, made a couple whips with modular jacks and plugged all 21 phones in to one of the original DSUII 1632's with 5A software that we installed originally. No trouble found!! All 21 phones are functioning correctly.
Any thoughts?
