Could someone tell me what the major differences are? I read that the 7200-S is not expandable, meaning if the customer out grew the cabinet I would need to upgrade the embedded VM to an SVMIe card and move to a 7400 cabinet. Anything else I should be aware of?

For a customer that is under 45 or so phones and doesn't anticipate more than 20% growth the 7200s is a great choice. With embedded voice mail and MGI licensed channels, two slots normally used for the OAS and SVMi20 cards are freed up.

In the event of growth beyond the limitations of the 7200s, the next step would be a 7200 (non-s), 7200 exp cabinet, adding OAS and SVMi20.

The 7200s is Samsung's most competitive offering in my opinion. A lot a flexibility in a small package; reasonable price.

Thanks. That is exactly what I needed. I'll be quoting the 7200-S.

Just be aware that the OS7200 doesn't take uni cards, but the OS7200S does.

So if you outgrow the 7200s you will need to factor dli, sli and or trk cards into the upgrade price

Recapitulating:

7200S...

1. ...is NOT expandable.
2. ...have embedded AA, voice mail and MGI channels on it, but requieres license for each one.
3. ...does support UNI cards.
4. ...can use 64 channels/ports per card. (Example: MGI64, TEPRI2).

It's OK what i'm saying?

How many MGI, AA and voice mail channels have it by default (With licenses)?

1. ...is NOT expandable. Correct.

2. ...have embedded AA, voice mail and MGI channels on it, but requieres license for each one. No license required for the first four Voice mail ports; only if you want to go to six; in fact, what I have seen is that all six work out of the box.

3. ...does support UNI cards. Yes, Version 5 or higher UNI cards.

4. ...can use 64 channels/ports per card. (Example: MGI64, TEPRI2). NO. Slots 3-5 will support a max of 32 channels, ie, single PRI card, OAS, etc.

The number of VM licences supplied on an OS7100 and OS7200S depends on which country variant you have.

For example.

A US OS7200S system has 4 VM Ports supplied as default.
An Australian OS7200S system has NO VM ports supplied as default.

Check the supplier code at the end of the part no.

/XAR = USA
/EUS = Europe
/AUA = Australia

these are examples, there are many more country codes.

Check the systems supplied to Argentina.

nameless - I would have overlooked the fact that the 7200 does not except UNI cards. Thanks.

I already quoted the 7200-s to the customer. Seems pretty flexible for the price and for that mid-sized market.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Just to add to ctiuser's post, the UK product is shipped without VM licences.
