I have a customer with a two cabinet 7200. I have one combo DLI/SLI card in it, with a pri card. The SLI ports are used for FAX machines. Not always but sometimes the DTMFR are all in use (4) and will not release. To fix the problem I have had to do a system reset. Then it will work for a few days. I have done reset to the combo card and to the station ports, but it will not relase the DTMFR. The problem I get is that they can recieve FAX but not FAX out.

Any thoughts?

I have had onboard DTMF receivers go faulty on a 500 MCP2, never on OS7000

The reason you can still receive but not send is the DTMF receiver is only used when a SLT station goes off hook for dialing, so you will find your slt ports won't break dial tone, which is why you can call in but not out.

2 choices, replace the processor, or install MFM/CRM daughter card onto the processor which supplies more DTMF receivers.

Thanks, yes I know that is why I don't dial tone. However, it is not always out, but when it does is there a way to reset just the dtmfr?

I'm not aware of a way to reset the DTMFr's.

You could try the port clear in IT Tool...

I've heard of it on an older MP40 with the large MC

I think you can disable the faulty port some how...never tried it myself.

You can busy them out via the maintenance/busy section...
