Recently, our Comdial 7260 system stopped advancing the date and day of week on the display. The time still updates though. Every day, I use the phone's programming function to update the date/day, but the next day nothing changes. Please help!

Welcome to the Board!! welcome

It sounds as if the programming isn't being kept in memory. You may need to have a Comdial tech come in and replace that battery on the CPU.

Are you sure you're doing the time & date programming right?? In the FAQ note in this forum you can download the instructions for the Comdial DX80 phone system.

FYI--the 7260 is the model of the phone not the system. :thumb:

I had a new DX120 a few months ago that would not hold the time or date, it would randomly revert to noon on 1/1 for no apparent reason. Replacing the CPU worked but I ended up sending the whole thing back under warrany just cause it was new. So the clock chip must be on the cpu and that is probably the culprit.

Also, you are entering in 24 hour military format right? You could just be 12 hours off if your not.

It's odd, though, that the time seems to be OK," The time still updates though." but the date & year are not changing the next day. You would think that it would be a function of the same chip. Maybe, once the time gets changed, it just goes, but the date & time don't function that way.

Just curious. Have you had any lightning close to you---or any electrical surges or power outages recently that you know of?? Is the phone system on a UPS of any sort??

Cardinal---let us know what you find out about this and how everything works out.

Thanks for the information about the phone model versus the system.

Unfortunately the day/date is still not advancing. The time seems to advance after changing the time settings (used code 08-14 to get there as indicated in programming manual), but the next day, the time seems to be off too. Perhaps the whole system stops advancing at a certain time of the day. I'm going to keep my eye on it today to see if and when the time stops advancing too.

I am definitely using 12 hour mode, but programming in the morning when that wouldn't matter anyways. Also, there was no power outage or lightning (I'm in Southern California) before this problem started occurring. We did have an IT company move my telephone line to another part of our office, so perhaps they did something wrong.

I don't know anything about the CPU or if the system is on a UPS.
