Hi CCSE,

What is your system version (Check this in MMC727) as some of the system firmware will require you to have a softphone license. (Check MMC199 and look for softphone)

Are you using the old softphone or the softphone built into officeserv communicator?

Ports that need to be forwarded are UDP 6000, UDP 9000 and UDP 30000 - 30032 forward these to the CPU IP address found in MMC830.

You will also need to set the system up as private with public and specify the public ip address. You need to do this in MMC830 also.

In MMC840 you will find your username and password to log the phone on. (Always best to log the phone on locally first just to make sure you have no trouble registering)

When registering remotely put the public IP address in and username and password if all above is setup correctly then it should work.

No worries, does sound like you have one of the newer firmware versions which has the feature called MPS. You can either forward the additional ports 40000 - 40032 to the system or you can disable the feature completely in MMC861(I would disable this personally).

Do you have MGI licenses? also check in MMC615 that you have your MGI groups setup. These should contain all the MGI channels found in MMC724.

Give this a try and let me know.

thanks again I have a fresh of the production line system...I checked what you said but it is all ok...got the feeling it is a firewall issue as I can get transmission on the internal IP address but nothing when using the public/fire wall address as the system IP
