Here at UT, the voice jacks are cat 3 white, the data jacks are blue cat 6, and the jacks for the card system (for food etc) are yellow cat 6. this is in the newest installs anyway.

Oh yeah. We switched to 6 position for voice based on feedback from this site. Good advice.

I have always used 6 position voice. I can't tell you how many people in the dorm have plugged their computer's ethernet port into the 8 position voice and wondered why they don't have an Internet connection!

Local 3 sparkies did Donald Trump's new high rise here. White plates, 8 pin white voice jacks, 8 pin white data jacks and no labeling. :bang:

The only thing on ours that differentiates them is the little C3 or C6...

They used blue CAT5e cable and CAT5e jacks for both voice and data. Try to figure which is which.

Does Local 3 have a Sound & Communication division? My Local has this division. Sounds like electricians did the install because I can't believe techs would be this unorganized.
