You've got a grounded outlet, right? Do what we do: use a Ditek surge protector, with ground lug. We've never really had any problems with them, and on installs where the system has a grounded power cord and chassis ground, this keeps the ground reference the same, eliminating ground potential issues.

If it were my new office when i moved in a few months ago, i ran three (3) new 12/2 w /gnd. to
three new locations and forgot about existing wire after checking out same.

Make sure you have room on panel for the circuits.

Actually i labeled the whole breaker box with a label gun. (all circuits)

Now your done with that issue (period)

I done this before i moved in, just like i would have done if i were my own customer.

Its money well spent.

If you dont know what your doing, pay and have it done.

I'm afraid the old clothes rod won't work.

You could easily drop a ground rod in the ground outside 6-10 foot and run some #6 or # 4 depending on the length into the office location and tie to it. You can get all this stuff at Home Depot an just use a sledge hammer and a little muscle.

Then put in proper CO protection and A/C Surge protection all bonded to the same earth ground.

Living in the lightning capitol of the universe I can tell you grounding is essential not only for system performance but for protection as well.

The only problem with that idea is that outside of the building is about 80 feet from where my phone system is being placed.

I understand that but I did not know if there was a distance issue if it is a long distance. I am still learning. Is there a distance I looked in the manual and do not remember it saying anything on that.

In worst case OR best?!? Do this like 5yr said.... Other manufacturers make similar too, I've seen one with only one plug, but I don't remember the manufacturer. Any Electrical supply could help.
