The telco standard punchdown configuration on a 66m block starts with blue/white on pin one and white/blue on pin 26. Is there a reason why they split the pairs on the block this way? Is it practical for todays applications? Most 66 blocks that I've seen have the pairs as w/b pin one, and bl/wh on pin two. Does having tip and ring landed on consecutive pins create problems with transmission for higher data rates?

The 1 and 26 refers to the pins on the Amphenol connector, which are right across from each other, as a pair. ![[Linked Image from pinouts.ru]](https://pinouts.ru/connectors/cent50m.gif) 1 & 26 is Wht/Blu, 2 & 27 is Wht/Org, all the way to 25 & 50 being Vio/Slt. Oh, and its White/Blue on the 66 block's pin 1, and Blue/White on pin 2.
