Has anyone ever used seismic racks? From what I gather, they're just super heavy duty pre-assembled racks mounted with seismic bolts. After that, do I just run/dress the cables as usual? Install plate/ladder as usual? Any help appreciated.

Shawn Shawn, when I first saw this, it brought back memories of installing "seismic" rack adaptors on existing racks....C O battery racks that is. : I have not used the "shake-n-roll" cable racks... the manufacturer should have the required information for installation of their product to meet national codes, state required codes, or otherwise as they were manufactured to meet these requirements and standards. Check with your supplier. Us the knowledge of the sales rep on his product he wants to sell you. If he doesn't know, he should get the factory rep out there to assist you if they want to sell this product. My attitude is showing again. Good luck, Shawn.

When I worked for GTE they spec'd Seismic Adapters on all racks in "Seismically Sensitive Areas" (Calif, Hawaii, etc.) We didn't have to install them in NY, but from what I saw of the documentation they were add-on units that looked kind of like big shock absorbers.
I could see if I still have some doc's on them (I kind of doubt it, but the basement is a big place)

I sell these all the time - and yes, the only difference is they are a heavy duty rack built to withstand an earthquake and other 'forces of nature' but as Katrina showed us - not everything is invinceable!
Let me know if you need help finding one - or a few hundred : ) I'd be happy to sell them to ya !
its the only pic i have on photobucket, ill get another one sooner or later : P
Im just a chick who loves Mopar, R1 bikes, my '52 Chevy bubba truck that Im rebuilding. Work consumes the rest of my life with fiber optic and copper cables -
