At the beginning of the month, we had a live radio show broadcast from the student union here at UT. They brought in some phone lines and a BRI to the closest data closet. The room has all cat 5e data jacks/cabling in it, so they just ran jumpers from the 66 blocks to the patch panel. Then they ran cables over the ceiling from the jacks to where the radio guy was. (Big open room with a drop ceiling grid and no tiles...) They used cat 3 cable for the 2 phone lines, and cat 6 for the data and BRI. My question is, couldn't you just use cat 3 for the BRI? The radio guy plugged his equipment into the jack with a regular line cord.

We move BRIs on Cat3 house cable.

So I don't get why they wasted a bunch of cat 6 cable? Guess where it is now laugh

Cat 3 is good enough for ISDN...

ISDN ( I STILL DON'T KNOW) I think it still applies
