I am a bit new at some of this and have a new opportunity to do some work but a little uncertain how. Can someone point me in the right direction? here is the description of what is to be done.
Extend the lines from DMARC to modular block on the left hand side of their system backboard. Backboard typically 3-5 feet of the DMARC. All lines on RJ21X with a female amphenol connector except lines 1xxxxxxxxx AND 2xxxxxxxx These need to be on RJ31X (Alarm Lines) please provide and install an RJ21X TN's to be wired 3xxxxxxxx, 4xxxxxxxx, 5xxxxxxxx, 6xxxxxxxxx, 7xxxxxxxxx, 8xxxxxxxxx, 9xxxxxxxxx, 0xxxxxxxxx
I have basic understanding of the punching and have all the tools and testers. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

if the POE and DMARC are right on the backboard and you are installing your blocks at the backboard then Plenum doesn't enter into the picture
the way I would read this is your taking the lines from the RJ21x to a "modular block " but running lines one and two through a RJ31x first then back to the "modular block"
Pretty basic stuff
so is this all your being asked to do or are you installing other equipment also ?

i can get a 66m1-50 with a female amp. i do not understand if they are wanting me to put this in or if they are saying that is what i have existing to connect to.
sounds like it is already there and they are wanting me to just connect them over to another 66 block and put the two security lines to a RJ31x
make sense?

I think your correct and thats what I would expect to find
you might want to take a "rj21x with the amp along just in case

Ummm, maybe it would be a good idea to actually go there and LOOK at it and see what is there and needs to be done? Just a thought...

I agree with Hal.. I know before I ever give anyone a quote or say I can do the work.. I will ALWAYS go and look first.. It also helps to know what kinda mess you are getting yourself into.. Its hard to believe but some customers don't always tell the truth...

The job is hourly so no quoting problem. Also it is 1.5 hours away. So i am only going once and when i go i need to have everything i need. Hopefully the customer can just give me some more info before i go. It sounds like there are just some details missing. I was thinking this was a standard job and just did not understand the protocols or common methods of install.
