I know you can change what each button each hand set does and you can do this with a laptop but how do you get in and what is needed to update the phone system. is there instructions I can get on the internet or can anyone tell me what to do? Thanks

What system do you have? An IDS, Contel, or maybe a Medley?

I have a isoetec digital system, executone phone system.

It sounds like you have an IDS phone system.
You use procomm plus to program system. It is a menu based system and is easy to program after you get in. There are different sizes of systems (42,84,108,228). Do you know what size or can you get a part number off main cabinet. You need to know, because they use different cable for the smaller systems to program.

You have an IDS42. It is the smallest of the Executone digital products, but a good one.
You need a rs232 to db9 cable to interface a laptop direct connection to the bottom of the phone system. You can also use Procomm Plus to program system remotly. (you have to have someone transfer you to internal modem in phone system. If you want more detail give me a email [email protected].
