I am needing help bidding this job if anyone can pm me a opinion on it I would appreciate it.
Overall Project SCOPE XXXXX Corporation is upgrading the IVR infrastructure in its Stores’ environment. Within each store, this upgrade seeks to replace the existing premise-based IVR with a centralized IVR solution. The centralized IVR solution requires the installation of a voice gateway at each store to communicate between the store PBX and the back-end IVR platform located at the XXXXX data center. The Installation Supplier is to provide the installation of store voice gateways and connections to each store’s PBX. XXXXX guests utilize the IVR to contact store team members, refill prescriptions, and contact pharmacy team members.
The scope of work for this SOW includes: Installation of either: 1) a 50 to 100 foot (depending on store) 25 pair Amphenol to stub cable onto 66-style or 110-style termination blocks (depending on store) for connection from the IVR gateway to analog station ports on the PBX (805 stores), or 2) connection from a Amphenol connector on the backplane of the PBX to a modular, 8pin, 8 conductor plug on the IVR gateway (468 stores) using a T1 cable provided by XXXXX. Receiving from store personnel, unpacking, and checking the shipped IVR gateway and other components. Installation of the IVR gateway into the control room equipment rack Connection of the IVR gateway to power, to an Ethernet switch port, and to the PBX Labeling connections to power and network Testing of calls into the IVR gateway Target will be utilizing the TAD modem for router monitoring and will need the onsite installation vendor to connect the 1273 routers to a specified TAD modem port. Orange TAD cable and connector will be supplied by XXXXXX and expect the onsite installation vendors time to take 5 min to connect this cable. De-installation of the existing store IVR chassis At 1273 stores with Analog or T1 PBX connections, the de-installation will take place the same day as the new chassis installation At 250 stores with softswitch PBX connections, the de-installation will take place after the store is cutoverâ€â€no new chassis installation Packaging and return of the existing store IVR chassis

What I want to know is how you are going to handle (what looks like) 1200 locations? Once you figure that out and it's cost the rest is just time and material.

We have done jobs somewhat like this for large national concerns. The last one we did was for about 10-12 locations. The locations were spread out over a 200sq mile area and some required an overnight stay of two techs.
We did everyone on a "time & material" basis, because everyone of them--although similar in make-up and similar on paper--were different in every location. Customer had a pretty good ball park figure after the first two, though.
I don't think there's any way that I can see--that you can set a figure for 1200 locations. That's just bizarre. Good way to lose money.

I wouldn't touch this project on a bid. Like JW said this is a good way to lose a lot of money, and sleep.

Thanks for the replys. I have in the past handled a project that involved 4k locations. Plus many many projects involving 1k+
I am currently working on two pilots in addition to this bid. The first is for 600 locations the other is for 6k locations.
The problem is large nationals do not like t&m bids. I have to find a happy medium where I can make more on some locations and break even or close on others where over all it is profitable.
I have not dealt with this particular setup of IVR and was hoping for more information to go on. In general we are low 3 figures per hr on any job avg. Then we take what we assume our man hours to be per site avg and multiply that out with small per diem if travel will be involved.
