Neal Stephenson, doing his absolute best impression of James Burke, narrating the story of how the FLAG submarine cable came to be, about 11 years or so ago, for Wired. https://www.wired.com/wired/archive/4.12/ffglass_pr.html Shame no one actually shot footage; it reads almost exactly like an episode of Connections. Did Stephenson write for Burke?

Perhaps this should be moved to the outside cabling forum. The reason why there is no audio is because the author writes for a paper publication called wired magazine and this was written in 1996.
