Good Day All. I have a problem that I can't seem to figure out. Before I start, please excuse any incorrect terminology or if this post doesn't make sense, I'm new at this. Recently, I set up my office with a basic phone system. 3 phone lines run to 9 rooms. I ran Cat5e cable from the modem to my utility closet. From there cable was run to each of the rooms. All jacks were installed and connections were terminated on a 66 block. Everything was then tested and worked fine. After a few hours as I moved a few faxes and telephones around I pulled on the line that was attach from the fax to the wall jack. The jack and wall plate were secured so I didn't think anything of it. When I went to check the lines, no dial tone. I noticed all the phone line lights on the modem where now blinking. Internet still works and so does a phone plugged directly to the modem. SO it seems a connection on the block has "failed?" If I attach just one line into the modem, then all the phones work for that line. When I connect all three, failure. Perhaps I have crossed cables? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi, shawnyu80 and welcome.

Before we can assist, we'll sure need a lot more information from you. To start, we'll at least need to know:

1. When you say "modem", exactly how is your phone service being delivered?

2. What kind of phones/system are you using?

If you can take a picture or two, that would also help. It would probably be easier to show a picture of what you have than explain it. If you need any help posting pictures, just send me a PM.

I would think that would be the first place to look. Have you removed the plate from the wall and inspected the wiring on the jack? Have you replaced the jack? If you used 8 position data jacks with a 6 position plug it's possible that you bent the pins when the cord was pulled.

Thank you for thanking us, but it doesn't seem as if we really offered you a definitive answer. Please feel free to check back with any other questions in the future.
