Does anyone know how long it will take a Model 160 / TAPI phone to "download data" before the phone is functional? It's attached to an IDS-84.

I do not think it will work, because the IDS84 does not have ACD capability. I could be wrong, but I have never put one on a 84 system.

Good Luck!!

The software recognized it as phone type "160" and let me program the keys, but the phone itself said

"Downloading messages from system"
"Your phone will be up shortly"

I'll leave it plugged in overnight and see what it does. It can be a learning experience for everyone. [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

They usually are up within a few minutes. 5 max. I will be waiting to see if it works.

Well, it took about 8 minutes to download messages but now it's working like a normal phone. It's quite nifty to have all the softkeys available at once. I'm going to use it at our front desk - it looks impressive.

I hope to play with TAPI software once I figure out how to do it. But at the very least, the 160 does work correctly on the IDS-84. It's interesting to see how the display works since it's twice the width of the Model 64 and the 29-key phone. Everything seems centered, though the messages look the same (they're no more verbose).
