Usually local laws forbid you from putting anything but alarm related cabling in an alarm conduit. Check with the AHJ, but you'll probably need a new conduit.

Fire alarm or burglar alarm? I think it all depends on the AHJ and what the require...

If you can't get 4 more cat5e through a 4" conduit, it's already way overfilled.
From what I've seen, if local codes require the FA circuits separated, all of the FA cable will be in conduit and using it wouldn't be an option. If it's just a 4" stub through a wall/floor, or a 4" chase across an inaccessible ceiling, chances are you could run your cat5e with it. Check with the local AHJ. It may be easier/faster to go ahead and run new conduit.
I don't think there's a NEC article that prohibits running data and FA circuits in the same raceway. Hal would be the man to ask on that.
In the event of having to install new conduit, I'd run as big a pipe as practical. While 4 cat5e will easily fit in 3/4" EMT, 1"+ EMT will save you a ton of time next time they ask for 4 more cat5e cables.

The question is more important than the answer.

yes, new conduit but what about installing innerduct as opposed to conduit---much cheaper.
and remember to use plenum rated innerduct if needed.

Innerduct would be my choice. I love the stuff. And you don't even have to fish it. Only problem is you can't easily get custom cut lengths, so be prepared to store a really big spool.

INNERDUCT
I remember one site where someone "lost" the pull string on a 250+ foot innerduct run...Have you ever tried to run a fish tape in an innerduct?
Painful, EXTREMELY, painful.

I do agree that innerduct is great for "point to point", but the first "T" intersection, or even appproaching fill capacity...

Nope, in fact it clearly states that you may, assuming we are talking about PLFA and LOW powered broadband circuits.
