Doing a bit of house cleaning today, and one of the things I need to move are a ton of coax patch cables. Any tips for storing these outside so that the fittings do not corrode? I can keep them out of the sunlight, but in VA humidity is always a factor. Is there some type of anti-corrosive spray I could use that wouldn't degrade them or need to be cleaned off before use? tia

Wax?

What if you dipped the ends in melted wax and gave it a good coating. The wax can bbe bought at a craft store very cheap.

I have never tried this

Would the summer sun completely melt the wax?
Would you be able to completely remove the way easily when needed?

If you try this route, keep us informed!

or WD-40

Zip-loc style bags with that granulated dryer stuff that you re-dry in an oven.

Or those vacum bags they peddle on TV, still with the dryer stuff.

Probably get the dryer stuff a lot of places, but I can think of Brownell's gunsmith supply in Montezuma, IA.

I wouldn't use wax, WD40 or any other kind of coating. You won't be able to get it off when you need to use the cables. Lightninghorse has the right idea, seal them in plastic boxes with a dessicant like silica gel. I second the recommendation for gunsmith supply places as a source. Dessicant canisters are used all the time in gun safes.
