We use a Fluke DTX-1800. Its a very robust tester and it uses an SD card which can easily be removed and read in a card reader on a pc to download, save, and print test reports. It also does single mode, multi mode, and 10 gig testing.

We use the DTX 1800 too! Lots of Pro's, but the only Con I can think of is the price. I am glad we spent the money though.

Thanks for the input, looking it up I can see the price is hard to swallow, but if you want to be in the game you have to play with the big boys. again thanks

Using a Lan Tech tester that stores a few thousand results and can be printed from a pc, or you can store the results in a PDF file and give it to the client electronically.

Takes about 20 seconds per cable, can be set for 10baseT, Cat 5, 5e and Cat 6 up to 600mhz.

Think I paid about $6k for it 24 months ago. I had to send it in after about 10,000 tests to be re-calibrated. To it's credit, it did get man-handled by the cable crew.
