I have a set of cable pulling sleeves in a tool roll, sold by Labor Saving Devices. The set consists of various sizes from one cable to a large bundle of cables. All sizes of these sleeves have worked well.

With all the variables involved, I am amazed when any voice and data technology works like it is supposed to.

Question to your question..is the building wood frame or steel? I've seen both in hotels. Anyways, I agree with the others here. Fish new would be the way to go.

It is old.... it is brick. It isn't so much a fish as it is feeding the line in from the alley

I was up there this week; I even did a little work. There is a little problem though: the hole that the phone line is fed through is small. It is smaller than a glow rod. I suppose I could drill another hole but does anyone have another suggestion?

ReBore-Zitâ„¢ Drill Bits by Labor Saving Devices
The ReBore-Zit drill bit is the only drill bit designed to enlarge a previously drilled hole while retaining the existing wire in that hole. The bit is fabricated with a custom made, hollow bodied drill bit containing a free spinning, swivel eyelet mounted to its pilot hole center shaft. Just secure your existing wire onto the eyelet and re-drill your hole to a larger size. The bit will not twist the wire. Available in 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4”, 1” (final size of re-drilled hole) diameters. Each diameter has an associated pilot hole size. Use the appropriate ReBore-Zit bit to accommodate the pre-existing hole (pilot hole) and step-up in ReBore-Zit sizes until you obtain your desired final hole size.

Heck, for a minute I thought you could leave the cable connected at both ends. Not exactly, it just 'keeps track' of the disconnected cable so that you can pull it back through after enlarging the hole without fishing.
