SS,
I know very little about the 66 and 96, except they are kind of flakey.
What are you tryong to do?

Had a call to go out and look at a EZ1. A customer bought a building and the system is in it they want to get it working. The last time I messed with a EZ1 was about 12+ years ago. I was just prepairing myself.

They would be better off with a new system. It is not Y2K and the age of system. It could cost them more to try to maintain it.
I had one that was acting strange ,so I reset it. Lost all the programming and the software eproms went bad.
Good Luck!!

They did not make the software for it to make it Y2K. The only thing it affects is the year. You can only put in a date upto 1999. I use 84 to 86 on most of the systems. It will not affect its operation, just the year.
Good Luck!!

The old Isoetec analog phones are getting harder to find by the day. We still repair and sell refurbished, but definitely try to get them to upgrade.

Thanks JJ I've always wondered what the big deal was about on Y2K...because I don't know of a phone system that showed the year, so it doesn't make a difference. Except that the date is correct and to by pass that all that needs to be done is to go back 7, 14, 21 years and no body would ever know the difference...What a farce that Y2K was. Sorry I wondered off coarse on this thread. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif)

Now, if it is a call center that uses the SMDR reports for disciplinary practices on employees the system date has to be correct. The sales people for Executone had a document stating the accuracy of the date for any such use.
The Executone CX shows the year on the display phones, but everything still works the same with the wrong year.

Actually, the best way to work around Y2K on any computerized system is to consider the year 2000 as 1972 and then go up from there. Then the days of the week and the leap years match with reality.
I've done this on quite a few IBM POS systems (as well as our current Executone system before the software upgrade) I maintained a while ago.
