Thanks for the good info. I wasn't even thinking about the fact that I couldn't mess with the phone co. equipment. This is why I ask lots of questions before I act. Thanks for saving me from myself. I will contact the local phone guys and see if they can move their stuff for me. They are clueless, but I have a good relationship with them. I have solved their problems and fixed their mistakes a few times over the years. They will probably work with me.

The "dial-tone provider , the company you pay your bill to" is who installed and maintains the system. They are great at providing phone service, clueless when it comes to business phone systems. But of course they charge us monthly for maintaining the system. I think you are right, Skip. I need to let the phone co. guys get service to me and pay someone else to update our system and keep it going.

Gee, you must be using SWB.. er AT&T now. I forgot. You may not have the option of having an outside service company maintain the system. Did you purchase it, or (gulp) lease it. Actually, you probably can have an outside company maintain it, but you may STILL be paying SWB..er..AT&T for their 'non-service'.

as its clear here not to mess with telco side stuff, if its simply extending a 25 pair, ive done the amp connector and ive done what dave says, using a bix wafer, the bix wafer has been the least painful. they sell small bix brackets for 2 wafers that easily hide in ceilings.

No Bell company ever terminated OSP on Reliable R66 blocks. My guess is that the OP is located in an area served by an independent telco.

That makes perfect sense Skip. It would explain why their provider doesn't have a clue.

Hey guys, here's a geography lesson. https://www.puc.state.oh.us/pucogis/statemap/ILECsA.pdf Do you see the parts of my state that are NOT IN BLUE? Just in passing, I've see a lot of resi BELL stuff that wasn't exactly "state of the art" in older houses. My non-bell operating company used a lot of R-Tech, Cook Electric, Tii, etc. protectors. Even some Sylvania stuff :-). Now, while OK City is in blue, there are enough exchanges surrounding it that don't have to put the OP in Bell territory https://www.oklata.org/map/index.html If I didn't want to be from NW Ohio, I could identify with (hack, spit) Toledo.
