Can the Encore 2512501 Set be programmed to allow the user to answer a call by lifting the handset without having to depress a line button?
If so, is there an easy way for a non-tech customer to do this or is a tech required.

If Tech required, where can I get documentation for his tech to complete this process?

The Encore 816/1232, Set Model # 2512501

My customer wants to use the Plantronics CS50 Wireless Headset with the Automated HL10 Lifter to answer calls while away from the phone. The current phone programming requires that he lift the handset and depress a button to receive a call.

For me to help my customer achieve his goal, the phone must be programmed to present the call to the handset upon going "off-hook" and must terminate the call upon going "on-hook" with the receiver. Is this possible?

Are you sure it's not a 616-1232 or is it a CX 816.
It sounds like you are talking about a 616, you can assign it a prime line to use for outcalling but for incomming they will have to lift the handset and press the button.

However if it's a CX816, that does support Ringing Line Answer.

The part number tells me it is a 616, or 1232 Encore, or Encore plus. The phone needs to be programmed to ring for this to work. If the line does not ring they must push the flashing CO line.

All programming is done on the CPU of the system. You need to know what type and size of system you have for the correct directions.

If all else fails, use a BFH.

Thank you for your help. I will find out which system he has and we will know what needs to be done. My customer is west of Wichita Falls Texas, is there a good Executone Tech in that area, who is part of your network?

The System is a KSU/616-Encore. The Model # is 25/3501. Is there any hope for my customer if they want to answer the ringing line by merely lifting the handset?

Thanks for your assistance! Is this something a customer or their computer tech could do with your assistance? I assume they would need a terminal with a serial cable (Connector?) to communicate with the CPU.

Is this something that could be coached over the phone?

They are in Quanah, TX 79252, 2 1/2 hours north west of Dallas TX and that is the closest city. Witchita Falls, Texas is 1/2 an hour and Lawton, Oklahoma is about an hour.

There are a couple of techs on this board that are in Tex. you may want to get with one of them to make this service call go smooth. Or perhaps JJ can work with them by phone and walk them through it, there may be a charge for this service.
