Have a client that has their demarc in one building and needs a 56K MPLS circuit several city blocks away (college campus).
Currently they tried jumping it to the needed location using what is probably 1960s era telephone cabling which obviously isn't working.
Aside from putting the demarc in that particular building, which I know they will not do, what would be the generally accepted method of getting the circuit where it needs to be.
Thanks for an IT lunatic!

Simple. Get you local telco to do it. I doubt that's there's any choice considering it's several blocks away.

The age of the cable has nothing to do with the circuit not working, although the condition of it may.
Without getting into NyQuist testing, the rule of thumb for DDS is 18 kft of clean non-loaded copper. What your customer needs to know is how the circuit is being delivered to the current d-mark. Is it straight copper from the CO? If so, the couple blocks of extra copper may add too much loss to the span. If the circuit is being delivered over some sort of DLC or an ADTRAN OCU-R then they have 18 kft of clean non-loaded copper past the d-mark to work with.
Also they need to remember the pinout for sub-rate is 1-2, 7-8.
