Hello,
I have a VXC voicemail that just recently
started locking up , twice in the last two weeks, reseting it is the only way to bring it back up, the hard drive and power supply were both replaced in the last 8 months, everything has been fine up till now. when I try to run scandisk or a defrag it says something like insufficient memory?
Any ideas?
Thanks
Rick

Rick,

Have you tried running Defrag from the DOS prompt and using the Executone shutown diagnostics section?

I had one that was doing this and had to reload all of the Software to fix.

Also check to make sure there is a UPS (battery backup) for the VXC. They hat power problems and lockup at any sign of power problems.

Good Luck!!
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Yes I did it from the DOS prompt ,with proper shutdown, it is on a ups, I was hoping that I was missing a setup in Bios
or something like that?
Jeff when you reloaded the software did you have to reprogram the entire voicemail?
I have done that on the VX2 but not on a VXC.

Thanks for your help

Rick

No, all programming is kept. Try doing from the diagnostics menu on the VXC shutdown. The MEM6.o software causes a conflict when doing from DOS. If you have troubles wit that reload software. Make sure you have all disks, if one is bad or do not have them all. You can cause a fatal error on the reload. Most of the time it will come up, but no FLASH accelarator loaded. So, it is super slow on booting up.

Good luck!!
Jeff

Went back today, ran scandisk passed okay,
tried to run defrag, on the hard drive but still get the error message, not enough conventional memory space available,
What would be using up the memory and how do I clear out memory to get more space without damaging the software or stored info?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rick

There was this MEM6.0 software that was need to manage the memory. I have tried reloading it, but it did not work for me. The only way I was able to fix this was backup mailboxes, default harddrive and reload everything.

I would give Penny a call he was good at fixing these, or try Intertel Tech support.

Sorry, and good luck!!

Thanks Jeff,
I have over 120 mailboxes on this system,
I will try to do a backup, but as far as defaulting it I think I will wait to see if the problem continues, its working fine now
But I would like to use defrag to cleanup the hard drive.
Thanks for the help

Rick
