We have a couple of customers with ESI IVX C Class using Plantronics headsets, that are experiencing white noise on the headsets. Handsets do not have the issue. Anyone else have this issue, and better yet, any solution to the issue? Thanks.

Check the batteries and the settings. Batteries first though.

Also Check the settings on the Base of the headset, the slider switch and the dial

If plugging into the headset jack on the 48-key sets you should NOT be using an amplifier. You may need to contact esi tech support to change the levels for the head set jack, you can change the C.O. line level to see if that helps but don't increase to 12 or you will get some clipping on the speaker phones when on an outside line. The levels control for the headset is NOT available to vendors, esi has to do it remotely.

White noise is common on a lot of the ESI systems when using headsets, especially wireless headsets. I believe the last posting was correct about plugging in without the amp. I think ESI has a tech bulletin regarding headsets, and which ones work best on these phones.

The ESI C-Class systems don't support the use of the 48-key phones with the integrated Headset jack, so you probably won't have any luck trying the use the headset without the amp.

The primary setting to deal with this is the slider on the side of the Plantronics amp, and the "listen" volume (if the white noise is only experienced by the customers' user, as opposed the person calling into your customers' system.)

FYI in case you are likewise having this issue - Plantronics has sent us two different types of filters and when both are used, the noise is almost totally gone.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about those. Any part numbers that we should ask for?
