Does anyone know if the ESI-Access Admin software will work with a new ESI IVX X-Class Feature Set II system? Also, do you know where I can download this software if it will work with this system? Thanks in advance.

ESI-Admin is the name of the administrative-level software. You should be able to get this from your dealer. The software is downloaded from the dealer website, so you will need your dealer to get it for you. You may also want to have them install it for you, for the first time, so they can show you what all can be done with it.

My dealer is somewhat tough to contact at times, and I am wondering if there is a way I can obtain this software otherwise? I am constantly having to make changes to my phone system, as far as who is sitting at which desk, features that are permitted for each phone, etc and if I could get a copy of this software, it would really help me out.

If your vendor isn't there for you, you can call ESI directly. They may give it to you or give your vendor a call. The file, even zipped is over 7MB. That's too big to e-mail.

If you're simply looking to save money, and not call ANY dealer, you may be out of luck here.

We're not generally in the practice of helping end users make an end run around their dealer. I wouldn't want someone to do that with one of my customers.

If, on the other hand, you're having trouble with your current dealer, and need help finding another one, I would suggest doing as SST suggested: call ESI directly for a referral to another dealer.

One more suggestion: it's tough for us to help someone who we know nothing about. Please complete your profile with a little less vague information. That might help you get a little farther here.

Be very careful with the Admin tool. It can be buggy. The best way to work with ESI is a combo of phone programming and the access tool.
You use the Admin tool to look around, print a report list, backup, and branch at a glance.
Backup all before you mess with the system.

Eric,

Welcome to the board! Please complete your profile, and read https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/27/t/000186.html

Thanks also for your input on the ESI-Admin software. Good things to watch out for. I wonder if anyone else has run into "buggy" issues with ESI-Admin. I haven't, personally, but would be interested to hear whether others have had any issues. Every time I've used it, and all customers I've setup to use it, the product has done what it was intended to do.

The only quirky thing that I have found in ESI-Admin since I finally got it from my dealer is that if I try to set feature authorization on my extension, the External Forwarding and Trunk-to-Trunk transfer seem to come un-authorized and Esi-Admin seems to not be able to set them back, and since I use the off-premises reach me feature, I need the external forwarding, and I use T-2-T Transfer b/c I have a remote office across town and our Esi-Link is currently not configured due to network issues at our other office. My sources at ESI tell me that they are planning on completely re-doing the Esi-Admin software before too long, and I suggested to them that the software be more web-aware and have the ability to look for updates to itself and give you the option to download them yourself instead of requiring a dealer to do this for you. Don't know if they will actually take the suggestion to heart, but it was worth a shot.

Does anyone know what the current version of the Esi-Admin software is? I am currently running 4.14.2, but I had heard through the grape vine that ESI was supposed to be revamping this and now that I have finally got my Esi-Link installation up and running, there are a couple of programming features that I can do manually, but not via Esi-Admin and it appears that I should be able to do them with the software, so I wanted to see if anyone knew what the latest version of the Esi-Admin was so I would know if it was worth pushing for or not. Thanks in advance.
