With help, an old defaulted 228 is back in operation but the backup with the latest settings, including the correct "office exchange", was not readable.
Being a total novice on this system and not much better on telephony in general, I could use help on how to set the exchange. Looking on LCR screens, it clearly shows the old exchange (was 836) but I have found no way to change the setting to the new one (happens to be 661).
Main menu screen says Eclipse 2.0 if that's important.
Many thanks, -dennis

So the switch has LCR loaded?I don't think you can change the exchange in LCR but I am not 100% sure of it.

LCR is a downloaded feature from the manufacturer. It is setup for each location, switch, and owner of equipment.
You can disable or remove LCR if you are not using a PRI/T1.
Good Luck!!
If all else fails, use a BFH.

If you want to use LCR on your switch, then you will have to get it updated. I believe that Aable communications can do it. I am not sure who else out there might be able to. As state above, I am pretty certain that it is not something you will be able to access or edit. ------------------ Intertel Telephone Repair Executone/Isoetec Telephone Repair [This message has been edited by paul144 (edited November 10, 2004).]

Got is solved. The most recent *good* backup used to restore the defaulted system was from the old location/exchange where a T1 was in use. At the new location/exchange, there is no T1 so the fix was to not use LCR as suggested above.
Thanks for your help.
