I have a few customer that I want to upgrade the software on.

Example:

S Class Gen II with 4.7.9 in slot 1 and nothing in slot 2.

If I want to load 4.7.11, do I put it in slot 2? Then after the reboot, it will load from slot 2? How does it know which one to load? Is it the newer one? I read that ESI support must get in there to move software from slot 2 to slot 1, so I wasn't sure if I can simply load it in slot 2, reboot and be running 4.7.11.

I also have some C-Class Gen II and E-Class Gen II with the same situation. The running software is in slot 1 and slot 2 is empty. Should I be safe on those loading the new software in slot 2, then rebooting to have it load off of the newly uploaded software in slot 2?

Thanks,
Kevin

Yes, load in slot 2. Tip, work one system at a time till complete. Spooky things happen during this process.

By the way welcome to the board.

just a tip, wait about 7 minutes after the software is loaded and complete before resetting.

Or, it might not ' take '

Also, Can't use slot 3 anymore, if anything there, need ESI to move it out.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..

Just remember to watch for the "Initialize: Yes" when going between certain levels of software (as noted on the dealer site).
