I used the "search" feature, but couldn't find anything relating to this, so hopefully I'm not asking the most FAedQ in the FAQ:

After logging into the Eclipse 2.0.0 system, there's a banner at the top stating:
Quote

Options: DCM3 LCR VMS 540 CA1 AACD500 Att CID TIME

I know that LCR is "Least-Cost Routing", VMS is "Voicemail System", and Att must refer to the Auto Attendant, but the rest is somewhat mystifying to me. For example, it says "540" at the top but the system has three cabinets and seems to support more than 540 ports (but fewer than 648), so that number is a bit confusing. I surmise CID means that a caller ID module is installed (but I'm not sure we subscribe to CID from the phone company.) The remaining acronyms are proving mysterious.

Anyone have a good glossary to help me define these?

Caller ID option, still need additional Hardware eighter Caller ID Interface and a spare rs232 port(which could be had from that DCM card(with a Digitial/Display phone OR a DDI. OR, 4X8Combo card for the later software that supported Caller ID.

I've been out of the Executone "loop" for a while but didn't they come up with a 4x8 card that had the caller id built into the trunk ports?

They two versions of the 4x8 card. One with caller ID for the 84 system and one without caller id for the 84.

They also made a caler id 4x8 card for the 228 system but not sure if it had caller id, would have to research my documents.

If all else fails, use a BFH.

Interesting... Thanks for the confirmation.

I thought it said 540 before I added another station card. Taking the sum of the REC, T1, STN, and SLI cards and multiplying by 12 gave me 528 installed ports. Does mean I can add only one more 12-port card?

540= 45 card slots

My guess is you have 3 cabinets?

That " Option " can be changed, but You need to call Inter-Tel, they took over all the executone accounts(Unless, You are dealing with some body else, that has access to adding and changing options)

Depending upon the configuration of cards(do You have any T-1 cards?) there are ways to ' trick ' the system to gain a slot or two, again, You will need someone to Reprogram the slots for the different card types. You CAN'T just move them around.

Three cabinets, but not all the slots are filled, and not every card has every position filled.

Cabinet 1 contains:
1 CNF
3xT1 cards (total 6 slots)
3x GS cards (which the guy before me documented as CO cards, I haven't looked at their part # yet to be exactly sure)
6x Stn
1 Rec
1 Sli
1 DID

Cabinet 2:
1x CNF
1 Rec
9x Stn
7x GS
1 empty slot

Cabinet 3:
1 CNF
1 Rec
8x Stn
8 empty slots.

For only having 540 ports available, it's odd seeing that I have just installed a set of DVAs, with the last of them on Stn 48, position 12-- or port #576... I count about 40 of the ports not being in use by glancing over my excel sheet, so it's about 536 ports in use... Scary thought if I'm that close to maxing out the phone system...

You might be living on borrowed Time!!

the 540 means 19 slots times 12 = 228(1 cab)it doesn't matter if You are using the "port"
or not a port can be anything, Digitial station, Analog station, DTMF Receiver, Trunk , Or the CNF which are used for Conference's (they might do something else as well) an empty slot is also taking up part of the 540!

540/12= 45 slots = 2 full cab's and 7 slots in the 3rd cab... You say You have 10 cards installed in the 3rd cabinet, do the card Identifers show up on the left hand side of the ' F ' screen?
