Mr. LaneComm,
Since you have had good success with Sonicwalls, could you please tell me which settings, or rules you used? One of my customers has sonicwalls at both ends (factory end and remote end). I have tried different settings and access rules and such, and have not been too successful. I see the udp packets being dropped though. The system is a 128 plus, so its the older style. I have talked to ESI net tech support, but nobody has had any experience with sonicwalls.
Thanks, Steve Cramer Teleworks of SE Mich.

I, too, am curious as to how you are configuring the Sonicwall to acheive such good results.
Thanks!

I have a Sonic Wall and have never had any troubles. Same rules as a Linksys....forward 59001 to the IP of the system.
I did have a customer who couldn't get things working and a software upgrade from Sonic Wall was necessary.

Stay away from the netgear routers and firewalls. Especially on the legacy systems. By ESI's admission there are known issues with the netgear equipment eating the UDP traffic. I have found this to be the case on multiple models if you try to forward the udp traffic with a range of values. Single ports per rule seem to work ok.
Linksys works pretty good for small applications though there business class VPN routers like to knock sessions down.
Fortigate works well if you have a high volume of traffic.
