I don't think there is a system made that does not have any issues - all in all I would say we have had far fewer with ESI than the other manufactures we represent and when there is a problem it is quickly resolved.

I would say that unlike other systems I install, ESI is very easy for the tech to program & service..........

We have been an ESI dealer for a LONG time. We picked the ESI up because, let's face it, the system demos really well and it's damn easy to install and maintain. But, times are a changing and we picked up the NEC (Aspire and UX series) and they seem to be every bit as well engineered and THE BIG deal is that the phones look better on the NEC, and this isn't just me talking but every customer we presented both system to on a bid. We still support and sell the ESI, but it cannot compete, in small and mid sized systems, with the Aspire and UX in price. Face it, small systems usually only need to do a few things well and 99.9% of the systems out there can do it. But, I will always have a special place for the ESI because it's so damn easy to install and program.

The only thing that hols ESI back is that till this day alot of people in the general public have not heard of them. Other then that they have been rock solid. Every company has some out the box problems. ESI might have more software quirks but most can be fixed.

I also install Avaya and Nortel and all of their products are rock solid as well from a small KSU to a full PBX. Tech support from Avaya is always a PIA. Nortel has gotten better so long as your an authorized dealer

One thing about ESI though is that the same folks have been there since I started installing back in 2000. Visiting ESI in Plano over Thanksgiving a couple years ago showed me that this company and its employees are very family orientated around the office.

The general public have for the most part never heard of ESI because they only make business phone systems and not microwave ovens or fiber optic switches like their competitors!

Nortel and Avaya dont make those either. ESI is still a new company compared to the big guys. Cisco is even newer but their name is already world wide in the telephony biz.

ESI jumped into the realm of the big boys with the release of the 600. Now its time to market like the big boys do. I made that a point when I was in Plano but I think they like where there at so I dont see ESI making a move to compete on that level.

This is in regards to your companies like JP Morgan/Chase, Charles Schwabb, Sony, JBL, Sega. They all want name branded systems.

Its like, shopping at Bloomingdales or shopping at Ross.
