Does anyone know if it is possible to use the "Esi-Admin" software to program an original IVX (or other early model)? I recently tried this and was not able to get the software to connect using the installer password. The program attempts to connect but fails the password negotiation step.
The version of the system is:
IVX-2, Version 2.8.4 (3)
Disk version: 1.11 (8/27/1997) - Flash version: 1.07 - RAM: 4 Meg
If not possible to program via serial port, is it possible to connect to the system via modem they way ESI tech support used to do? If so, how?

Never connected to IVX original. I did all programming on the originals through a phone back then. ESI-Admin software is for system administration not programming. You can only connect as the administrator. If your having trouble connecting just program through a station set.

No you need ESI-Access. ESI Admin is for the communication servers only.

If you are using esi-admin you need to use the admin password not the installer password.
