Can these work together?

On the phone I need to click a headset button to be able to pick up or hang up.

I have installed everything as it should but I can no longer hear when a call comes in or when someone calls direct.

We have 4 CS55's in the office and they work great. This is the first HL-10 we have tried. any thoughts on this? Too old of a system to have a handset lifter?

Any help will be appreciated!

The magnetic hookswitch (the switch that senses when the phone is hung up) on the DP1 is on the bottom of the telephone next to the handset microphone so the lifter assembly won't work as designed. That said, I have seen some people succesfully set it up to work if the phone is at the right angle.

ESI's design of the DP1 made for a virtually indestructible phone, but they did not anticipate the widespread acceptance of the mechanical handset lifter!

I've never been able to make a HL10 work on a DP1 for the reason Brian described. I have seen a customer use a HL1 (the orginal handset lifter with the platform and long metal rod) by slightly modifying the metal rod so the lifter pulls the handset far enough out of the cradle to release the magnetic hook switch. Plantronics doesn't list the HL1 on their website, but you may still be able to order it. That was the case back when this customer created this work-around. It wasn't the prettiest solution, but it did work and was probably the only solution.
