Customer called yesterday all his phones dead on his 72 E class gen 2 ksu.Went to check it out, lights were on the side of the cabinet and voltage present on the cutdown block but indeed no phones working. Figured it must be the hard drive so I ordered a new one. Took the cabinet home and plugged it in for the hell of it and lo and behold its working fine! Had it plugged in all night and still good this morning. Should I replace the hard drive anyway or am I missing something here? Thanks in advance Paul

You didn't say anything about trying a Reset On-Site?
" sometimes " that's all is needed....But, since You still have it, yea, You could back it up.

Ok, when You were on-site, and power cycled, did you unplug the amphenols on the side? ( just asking, 'cause I wouldn't ) Maybe , something on one of the tails is causing an Issue.

Sounds like a bad port card. I had one do exactly the same thing a few months ago. I was fortunate to have a spare, so I fixed it right away, but when I tetsted it back at the shop it was fine. Sure enough after a few hours burn-in it failed again.

Thank you for your helpful replies, apologies for not responding sooner. have been out of country for a few days. Did replace the harddrive before I left and reinstalled. All is well so far, fingers crossed!
