My website now has a PR between 2 & 3. Not sure why that is fluctuating.

I know that is not very high, but when you consider it was 0 two weeks ago...

If you go to Yahoo and enter "Florida Vodavi" my site comes up number 1. "Florida Norstar" is around 5. MSN is pretty good too.

But, I'm still having a hard time being seen on Google, except for the paid ads.

Any suggestions on how to get a better repsonse on "Gainesille Florida Business Phone System?" Everytime I enter the word phone or telephone, I get everything under the sun.

Have you submitted your site to Google? If yes, give it a few weeks.

Yes, is submitted it again. It does come up, just not as quickly as I would like.

Actually, it's not necessary to submit your site to google. Just have other sites link to you and they will come.

Also, pr doesn't mean much either

Work on the linking

For a good search engine result for those
keywords "Gainesille Florida Business Phone
System" those words need to be in the URL, or web page title, description, h1, h2 tags, content,
and in-bound text links.

Right now your home page has the title "Business
Telephone Systems | Network Cabling | Gainesville
| Ocala | Florida" So, you have a good start.

As Cyanide says, keep working on those in-bound links. :thumb:

Also as Roland pointed out PageRank doesn't matter... I know PR5 sites that get >1,000 hits per month... as far as all of the sales training I've been through the more people in front of you the better the chance to close a deal? Not true online... get quality traffic... convert them... retire early

About PR
PR is only affective if your site is battling a competitor on a key word or key word phrase where the 2 sites are even as far as content, title, key words, description etc. Then the PR will and can make a difference, PR is good to have but worthless if the other stuff isn't there.

Get a good site, develop it for the users and keep the search engines in mind and the pr will come.

If you look at your website statistic, you'll be
able to tell was key words/phrases where used to
find your website.

Also, what site referred visitors to your site
(including searches).

Examining your website statistic should be a
routine practice. Not only to see that volume
of traffic to your site, but also the referrals,
if the search engine robots are hitting your site,
what link refferals are being used, and the all important
keyword use.

Your website hosting package should provide a
robost website stats tools.
