Is it possible to program an ADIX to specify a certain extension to be the only phone to ring when a call comes in on a specific line?

There is a need at one of my facilites for calls made to a certain phone number ring only at a single person's phone.

I think this is possible but needed some confirmation and a brief description on which classes I need to focus on.

As you may have guessed already I am not a dealer or a professional technician, but have used ADIX and ECS systems for over 10 years and have picked up some knowledge about a lot of the features and system configuration by tinkering with spare systems and schmoozing with phone techs when they come by to do more extensive work.

Any tips will be appreciated.

Thanks JBean!

OK. I fired up the laptop and RPC7U.exe and looked at some existing configs done by other vendors on some of our other switches. I think if I move the line out of the current trunk group (11.38) and into to a different one (probably TRK GRP 60), and then add the logical extension/port number to the Station Ring Group (11.32) for Day and Night, it will work.

Whaddya think? Am I on the right track?

Thanks again,

Chalky

Item 38 refers to outgoing calls only, so it won't matter which group you change it to- it won't affect inbound ringing.

Item 32 is the determining factor for which stations ring as you have already discovered. If you are using the DOS programmer, pressing F4 will toggle between extension/port mode for Item 32- makes it a little easier to put in the right numbers.

All you should focus are the class 10 item 12; class 11 item 32 and class 14/15.
Make sure no other has the specific CO key but the one you want.
