I'm trying to set up the IX-12IPKTD-E2s but I'm having problems with some. I've been able to get a couple up and running but the rest seem to not work correctly. When I call other extensions with the malfunctioning ones I can hear the ringing tone but as soon as the other person picks up the audio cuts off; they can hear me, but I can't hear them. This happens no matter where I call (voicemail, outside line, internally), or if they call me.
Is something not configured right or is there something deffective?

I have:
ECS 4.01
TOLAdmin 7.1

Confirm you have enough licenses for all phones, confirm the LAN/VPN settings in config. May be ports not opened in network. Are these onsite via lan or outside the building running over internet? Are the phones the same type as the ones that are working?

I thought I didn't need licenses for these because they work through the IPSUB cards and not the MBU.

I have 2 IPSUBs with 8 channels each. I only have 5 phones active and SO registered on them; they are all IX-12IPKTD-E2s.

The phones that don't work right also register correctly with the IPSUBs, get an IP, extension and everything; they just don't have audio once a call is answered.

4 of the IPKTDs are outside over internet and 1 is in the building via LAN. All of them connect to the system through the IPSUBs IP addresses.

I am guessing that the outside phones are the no audio ones.. You need to make sure you have ports opened on the router/firewall (both sides, bi-directional) TCP ports 50000, UDP ports 5004-5019. If you have multiple cards they can't have conflicting Ip addresses, TCP/UDP ports, so change 2nd card settings. If you only have 5 phones you don't need to have the 2nd card... Being the phones connect, port forwarding seems to be correct.

I'm sorry, I didn't explain right. The 5 phones I listed all work perfectly... I was just pointing out that I have outside and inside IP phones working.
In adition to those working phones, I have 2-3 more that don't work right.
At some point we were using more IP phones and that's why we have 2 IPSubs...
I guess I'll double check with the Network Admin to see if all the ports are forwarded correctly.

mmmm... each IPSUBs have a different external IP address. But both have the same port numbering: TCP ports 50000, UDP ports 5004-5019...
Are you saying that these port numbers must be different as well even though the IP addresses are different?

Ok if you have different public IP address forwarding to different internal IP address you don't need to have unique TCP/UDP numbering. You could try changing them just to see, but I don't believe that is needed. These are going thru a router and not just pulling static addresses from carrier via a switch ahead of the data router correct? Also make sure to reset the IPSUB cards after making changes.

They are NOT going through a router. They have public static IPs that are outside our LAN.

By the way, what's the difference between the IX-12IPKTD, the IX-12IPKTD-E and the IX-12IPKTD-E2.

IPKTD's and IPKTD-E2's require connection to an IPSUB card. The E2 version supports PoE from the switch or with an AC adapter.

The IPKTD-E requires available MBU channels.

Is your system an upgraded ADIX by chance?

I think it actually might be an upgraded ADIX.

The network admin confirmed that there's no router, so I shouldn't have to worry abouth opening ports and such...
