I have inherited an Iwatsu ADIX VS system and from reading other I understand the unique programming issues. I bought a new digital station card and although it looks like programming is there for it, do I have to reset the system for it to recognize the card? I can call from the phone but I can't call to it. There may be more after this because once I get past this I may run into more once I start reprogramming. Thanks in advance. JD

The VS is pretty much pre-configured, so as long as you powered down the switch before adding the card, you're probably OK- the VS does NOT support hot-swapping. You may need to assign an extension number to the new phones in order to call them. If the new extensions are display phones, leave the handset in the cradle and dial FEAT, 99. This will tell you the port number you're working with so you know where to look to assign the number.

Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

As a rule I just about power down any system I am
installing a card in even if it's a station card. I did that with this system but like you suggest, it seems it's pre-configured but as I think about it, I don't think there was an extension. I'll give that a shot next week. It's just one extra phone so they are not too concerned. Thanks for the response.JD
