From what I've heard, I would avoid Cisco VoIP like the plague. If you stay with the brand you currently have, you could save money on reusing phones and possibly some other equipment.
If you want to switch, most brands have very similar features and VoIP options. Check with local companies and go with the one with good service and references.

JMAN, We are located in Central Pa, I don't know if maybe you would want to talk about other options or not. If so let me know. But i would agree with the rest of the guys on the board about changing to Cisco heck you already have the phones, assuming they will migrate to the new iwatsu.

Thanks,
I guess I was looking for what people thought was quality in the VoIP world. I don’t know of the history of Iwatsu with VoIP. I was concerned that perhaps it did a lot of chatter on the network. I figured that Cisco would have developed good VoIP solution in regards to network chatter and latency issues (I understand that some of the phone functions may be missing)… But I wanted to hear from professional that had some experience with either or both of these systems.

I'm not sure about cost but we have had nothing but a quality system with our Cisco. While it is nothing fancy, we definitely get the 5 9's. Easy maintenance and programming as well. Of course I can't compare to any other Voip systems since I have not worked on any. But I'd recomend Cisco.

BTW, As far as jitter, echo and dropped calls, I have had one complaint in 2 years about an echo. I never did find it and no one else has ever complained about it. Granted, we do have one hell of an infrastructure so we can support Voip. That is a big key you must have to avoid many problems.
