What do you recommend for high density ATAs in the 12, 16, 24 port range.

I've had one person recommend AudioCode (and they are made in the land of Milk and Honey) but I sent and e-mail to have someone call me and nothing.

Any suggestions? Thanks, Bunnie

Bob, if it were my guess I would either say that "the land of milk and honey" was either Taiwan laugh ...... or Israel.

Bunnie,
I don't know about an ata with that many analog ports. But, Mulitech does make a VoIP box with a T1 connection.

VegaStream makes various configurations of FXS, FXO and 1 or 2 T1 rack-mount VoIP gateways. I think it's one of the cheaper solutions, and we recommend it to our customers with foriegn call centers, with US-based dialers.

Bunnie is referring to Israel. I believe Telrad and Tadiran are from there as well.

The VOIP provider I was working with picked AudioCodes and they are very price competitive on the 24 line box, less so on smaller configurations.

I will say that they went in smoothly and when we had a glitch, they downloaded new software.

We have 24 lines at an office using an AudioCodes 124 box at 8k and it sounds like a regular phone.

I've sold my second 24 box and they are going from paying $60 a line for all you can call US/Canda to VOIP lines with the same service at $35 a line.

We are using a SDSL line from Covad because that is the only SDSL provider for that area. I must say that the customer service at Covad was a nightmare, on multiple occasions and hope I never cross their path again.

It would be very smart to have a spare Netopia SDSL router on hand so when their turn up date is way past your customer's move in date, you can have them punch in the IP address and make it work.

We have had good experience with the product line from Quintum. In fact I run their CMS in My NOC with 24 T1 lines for VoIP to TDM gateway applications.
